The second statewide conference for micro- and nano-scale science and engineering will be held on October 5, 2006 at the University of Utah. Parking is free at the North Merrill Engineering Lot.
Details of the conference agenda and program are attached as a PDF [click here]. Please forward this information to your colleagues who might be interested in participating.
The format of the conference is to first: present a challenge for researchers and businesses in the state; second: provide a rapid-fire format for presenting the unique research capabilities and business interests in Utah; and third: plan and facilitate specific action to make Utah competitive.
Purpose and Objectives of the nanoUtah 2006:-
To assist Utah nanotech companies and promote development of new micro/nano enabled Products. To differentiate Utah-based technologies within the global market.
Purpose of the morning rapid-fire style 5-minutes presentation session by academic and industries are not only sharing micro/nano research activities among participants, but also to open collaborative research windows to bring federal and other funding to Utah.
Objectives of three afternoon Breakout sessions are stimulating the discussion among participants, establishing a means of capturing their energy and enthusiasm, and deciding a course of future action that hopefully includes volunteers from the audience. This may take the form of a “working committee” who are willing and able to continue the discussion beyond the conference into productive activity.
