Information security breaches can be devastating for any company, in terms of financial and reputation loss. Thus, information security must be at the forefront of the designs of systems that utilize and manage sensitive information. While a plethora of technologies have been developed to secure our information, the problem continues to grow as cybercriminals have a vast array of tools and techniques at their disposal. This presentation addresses a breadth of security problems common to companies regardless size or scope. Topics include: security responsibility, implementing security practices and processes, and principles of a security policy and program. Bio: Dr. Chad D. Mano is an assistant professor at Utah State University in the Department of Computer Science. Dr. Mano received his B.S. and M.S. degrees at Utah State University and then moved on to the University of Notre Dame where he received his PhD. Dr. Mano conducts research in the area of computer security, including both network and software security.
