LOCAL CEO SERVES AS OFFICER OF NATIONAL IT ORGANIZATION Richard R. Nelson, president and CEO of the Utah Information Technology

Richard R. Nelson, president and CEO of the Utah Information Technology Association (UITA), will be attending the March 11-13 national CRITA meeting in Costa Mesa, California, as a member of the Executive Committee and incoming treasurer.

CRITA (the Council of Regional Information Technology Associations) is a consortium of technology councils and associations supporting and promoting the IT industry in North America’s leading high-tech communities and represents more than 22,000 technology-related companies throughout the United States.

“UITA’s active role allows our 2,600 IT companies in Utah to have an important voice in Washington, D.C. There is no question in my mind that the IT industry is the most significant driver in Utah’s economy. Enhancing the ability of our technology companies to compete in a global market should be foremost in any enlightened business community and is the overriding mission of UITA,” said Mr. Nelson.
